The future is bright for Taupo-nui-a-Tia Rugby

The future is bright for Taupo-nui-a-Tia Rugby

At the halfway point in the Bay of Plenty Premier Competition, the U14 TNT Boys College team have already swept aside teams from Rotorua Boys College, Papamoa College, Tauhara Combined, Whakatane College and both Tauranga Boys teams.

Playing an attractive style of attacking rugby they have qualified against the odds through the grading rounds to be in the Bay of Plenty Premier competition and with 3 wins from their first 4 games currently, sit just behind the leaders and well placed to make the finals in their first season together.

Hard work, grit and determination and a gruelling pre-season fitness campaign (including a great pre-season trip to the Whakatane Global rugby festival, where they became the only NZ team to beat a strong touring French team and finished runners up, also winning best and fairest in the process) have meant they have the fitness levels and team bond to grind out wins and with 3 games to go are well placed to exceed most expectations (but not their coaches or amazing supportive parents!) and challenge for the Bay of Plenty competition.

The future is certainly looking bright for Taupo Nui-A-Tia rugby.

Get along and support them in their final 3 games:

27/7 – Away vs Papamoa College (10.30am)
3/8 – Home vs Trident College (10.30am)
10/8 – Home vs Mount Maunganui College (10.30am)
