Enrol in New Zealand
Haere Mai/ Welcome
To have the best experiences and the time of your life, it’s definitely worth the effort to travel the distance! Once you’re in New Zealand, Taupō is an easy drive or a 45 minute flight from our largest cities, Auckland and Wellington.
Taupō-nui-a-Tia College is a cosmopolitan, modern, well-equipped co-educational secondary school with approximately 1000 students in years 9 to 13. Its classrooms, facilities, education choices, leadership and outdoor opportunities are first-rate.
The school has special character, is successful, small-scale, safe and secure. Our staff and students accomplish excellent results in all areas of school and society – whether it’s in sports, academia, arts, culture and community. Moreover, we have fun doing it all!
We are a Cornerstone Values school – consistent, universal and transcultural, they inform and direct our behaviour and attitudes.

It’s Hands On
At our contemporary technical facility, students can develop their practical and creative skills in wood carpentry/joinery, textiles, metal work and engineering, food and nutrition as well as design & visual and digital technologies.
As a top sporting school, we offer more than 30 sports codes at a competitive and social level and our high performance programme gets top marks from our high achieving athletes.
Manaakitanga (hospitality, kindness, generosity, support)
Great Lake Taupō is at the centre of New Zealand’s North Island – the locals call it nature’s ultimate playground and they love to share their place, their values and their hospitality – Māori call it manaakitanga.
Spirit and pride
From the moment you walk into Taupō College, you will feel the positive vibe; there is an undeniable school spirit and a strong sense of pride that you’ll want to be part of.
You will belong to one of our four house teams. Each house has students from all year groups and together you will “battle” in the inter-house competition at cross country, swimming sports, chanting, colours day and athletics and be super proud of your house success.
For many students the highlight of their school year is Spirit Week. Again, in the format of an inter-house competition, Spirit Week includes action packed activities, crazy fun and competitions to celebrate being part of a positive school community. Spirit week is in the last week of term 2.
