Nui students get first-hand job experience through License to Work Programme

Nui students have been working hard to hone their work-ready skills and last week, it was time to put those skills into action. Visits to MB Century, Tenon, and forestry sectors on Thursday proved successful. This was followed by equally valuable visits to Wairakei Resort, Hole-in-One, Opepe Farm, and construction sectors on Friday.

These visits gave our students great insight and confidence to look into various career paths they might find rewarding and enjoyable. From here, students will be given the opportunity for some work experience through the excellent contacts they have made from the visits. At least six students have now secured work placements that could lead to future employment, so we are very pleased with the success of this programme.

Many thanks to all the managers, employees, and administration staff who organized the two days for our learners. It was incredibly worthwhile! Good luck to all our students who will be starting their work experience soon.
