Students earn internships in Geothermal Industries

Esme Morgan and Anastasia Connor earn internships

WING (Women in Geothermal) NZ recently partnered with local colleges in the wider Taupo and Rotorua areas, offering female year 11 & 12 students internship opportunities within the Geothermal industries. This included companies such as, Contact Energy, Mercury, Western Energy Services, and MB Century.

Esme Morgan (yr11) and Anastasia Connor (yr12) decided to apply after taking part in the Gateway ‘Girls with Hi-Vis’ trip and attending the recent Geothermal Roadshow at Nui. It is our pleasure to announce that they have both been successful in their applications!

Both of these students are wanting to explore a career in Engineering. They are looking forward to seeing how this opportunity fits within the geothermal arena, and what future careers could be open to them in this field.  The internships run for two weeks and take part in the October holidays.  This is a fantastic opportunity and we are incredibly proud of them both for putting the time and effort into the application process.
