Students at Nui raise funds to find a cure

The Taupo-nui-a-Tia College Team has raised over $13000 for Shave for a Cure.  Over 20 students had their heads shaved to remember loved ones and support cancer patients.  This money will go towards finding more effective treatments to save lives and to make sure people with cancer get the support they need to get through.  Three of the girls cut their amazing long hair to donate to Freedom Wigs, a company that makes wigs for people undergoing cancer treatment who have lost their hair. This was a tremendous effort and we are really proud of everyone who got involved. Beanies were donated by Taupo Creative Fibres and Make-Give-Live so the newly shaved heads weren't too cold!
