Nui students earn success at SGCNZ UOSW Shakespeare Festival - South Waikato Regionals

On June 8th, our drama students had a performance evening where they showcased their incredible talent at the SGCNZ UOSW Shakespeare Festival - South Waikato Regionals. Their commitment and skill were well rewarded, with our students taking out many of the top prizes. Best Student Director went to Xenon Messenger and Levi Hemi for Othello, while Boaz Mellor won Most Energetic Performance in Much Ado About Nothing. Taupo-nui-a-Tia also won Best Costume (Julius Caesar), Best Fight Scene (Much Ado About Nothing), Best Tragedy and Most Original Play-Choice (Othello), Most Original Interpretation (Julius Caesar), Best 15 Minute Scene (The Tempest), Best 5 Minute Scene (Othello) and 2nd Place 15 Minute Scene (Julius Caesar)

We would like to also extend our proud congratulations to Boaz Mellor, who won Direct Entry into NSSP (National Schools Shakespeare Production)  which runs for 10 days in September holidays, and leads into a chance to go the the Globe in London in 2021!
