BOP Junior Volleyball Competition

BOP Junior Volleyball Competition

Despite all the barriers from Covid-19 restrictions, Taupo nui-a-Tia College was able to compete in the BOP Junior Volleyball camps, over the past 3 weekends.

Two full teams traveled to Rotorua or Tauranga. Coach Bruce Mason, accompanied by two senior students, Louis Wyatt and Anton Lamprecht, took care of the very new Y9 team. The boys were all excited to be able to play against other schools. They improved over the weeks and ended in great spirits placing 20th in the Bay Competition.

The girls, coached and guided by Darren Tiplady, Emma (alumni student), and Angelina Paenga (senior player) started in a pretty tough competition, after finishing second place last year. They played some awesome games but were just unlucky to not be able to secure the win. They ended up 16th in the competition this year, which is a great result!

We would like to thank BOP volleyball for all their efforts to make this event happen. Also to all parents, coaches, and senior students who supported our students so well during the three weeks of competition. Great work, everyone!
