Both our Junior and Senior Badminton teams who qualified, recently competed at the BOPSS Finals.
Our Junior Boys Team managed to win the Division Two Bay of Plenty Badminton Finals in August in Tauranga. This was a superb achievement with the Team defeating all the other schools they faced. Our Junior Girls Team had a great day too, playing in their first ever finals and finished 5th overall. Congratulations to all our wonderful players.
Our Senior Boys Team A played in the top division of the Bay of Plenty Finals for the first time in many years and performed superbly. Our player of the day was Keidyn Yamagishi, who was unbeaten in all of his singles matches. Our Team B played in Senior Division Two, with some very close matches and just missed out on a top 3 placing. All our Teams conducted themselves brilliantly, with great play and sportsmanship.
A special thank you to Simon Farrow who takes the group on a Wednesday and Friday for training and also takes the students away on tournaments!
