Tūwharetoa Waewae Rakau Project

8 students were selected to attend the Tuwharetoa Waewae Rakau Project, with the first seasonal noho taking place at the end of August. Co-ordinated by the New Zealand Police and the Tuwharetoa Charitable Health Trust, this project is an initiative to:

  • encourage and inspire our rangatahi to strengthen their aspirations for the future of our iwi

  • strengthen their connection with our marae and hapu through building foundations of knowledge

  • empower our rangatahi by imparting knowledge about our whenua, whakapapa, and tikanga

A beautiful weekend was had by all that attended. Ka mau te wehi!
