In our Mathematics classes, over the past two weeks, all our Year 9 students have been demonstrating their orienteering skills, using a range of courses set up around the college. Their final challenge was a Rogaine Course of 20 controls set up at Spa Park by Rolf Wagner, Taupo Orienteering Club. 

What a fabulous event with stunning weather. We held 2 sessions this week, with approximately 150 students at each session. Awesome way to apply learning in our local environment, and to see the strengths in our students from an alternative mathematical perspective.

Special thanks to all our Mathematics Faculty for their adventurous energy at the end of term.

Taupo Orienteering Club have also uploaded 3 public versions  “230330 Spa Park – Rogaine” which will be available until 30 April 2024.

They are all on the same map but with different time limits, 30, 45 or 60 Minutes.
