Design and Innovation

Taupo-nui-a-Tia College delivers a strong Design and Innovation program in our school, supported by  our modern facilities in all subjects.

Food and Nutrition, Hospitality, Textile Design and Design and Visual Communication.

A commercial kitchen caters for our subjects Food and Nutrition and Hospitality. A barista course is one of the great opportunities in this department.

Textile Design is a blossoming subject and prepares you for the fashion industry. We even offer possibilities to showcase your own designs in the local charity catwalk.

Design and visual communication makes use of the most modern facilities like 3-D printers and laser cutters. The computer software will introduce you to university degrees like industrial design and architecture.

Art, Raw Material Wood and Metal

Art is divided over painting, design (logo development with photoshop) and photography. Students don’t need to have their own camera or computer to participate in these subjects.

Raw material Wood and Metal give the students opportunities to make their own small furniture and tools. Many international students love the opportunity to work in a well equipped workshop and work with high standard machinery.
