From the Principal
Taupo-nui-a-Tia College rates among the very best secondary schools in New Zealand. The college has established and maintained an enviable reputation locally, nationally and internationally as a place where all students have the opportunity to gain a full and rounded education.
At Taupo-nui-a-Tia College our aim is to have your child
- going to a school they are proud of and happy to attend
- achieving personal growth
- being emotionally happy
- being given the opportunity to reach their academic potential.
The college is favoured by a well-qualified, experienced and committed staff who works hard to help create a supportive culture conducive to learning. This is confirmed by our last two ERO reports –
“School climate: the school climate is inclusive and valuing of all students. They are proud of the school and able to articulate that they feel safe and well supported. Their strong sense of identity and ownership of school values is evident. A positive school culture is a significant feature of a school that is valued by students, staff, parents and whanau.”
ERO Report March 2003
“Cornerstone Values continue to be promoted throughout the school and are contributing to settled classroom environments, and a school culture where success, mutual respect and personal responsibility are acknowledged and valued.
Students, parents and whanau are benefiting from the high priority the school places on the holistic wellbeing of its students. The school’s responsive pastoral care personnel are accessible to all students who need assistance and advice about personal and/or academic matters.”
ERO Report January 2008
We are fortunate to be of a size that enables us to offer a wide range of subject choices and numerous sporting and cultural opportunities.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees and staff, I extend a warm welcome to all intending students and urge you to take advantage of these opportunities.
A commitment to participation and hard work is the key to success both in academic and co-curricular areas of the school. There can be no doubt that if you are prepared to become involved and make a full effort, your time at Taupo-nui-a-Tia College will be most rewarding.
