Taupo-nui-a-Tia newly formed PTA are an active, interested group of parents wanting to contribute to the wellbeing of staff and students alike. They have recently established their constitution which has been confirmed from the Charities Commission and they are now a registered Charity entity.
They are now in a good position to start helping to raise some funds for those much needed items that the college will identify for us to work towards. On that front, they are hoping to receive the names and email addresses of any parents or any other associates of the college that would be interested in helping out with fundraising activities. Please email them to mail@taupocollege.ac.nz.

Update from Rob Williams President May 2010
Hi Folks
At our last PTA meeting at the end of April the main items for discussion revolved around the entertainment book fundraising opportunity and also the potential for us to assist with the 50th Jubilee celebrations this coming Labour Weekend. By now you will have all seen the literature regarding the entertainment books and indeed you will have also hopefully seen one of the actual books. These books are on sale through college and are jam packed full of special deals and offers from local businesses, restaurants and cafes as well as containing regional and national offers.
There are no limits to the number of books that you may purchase and for every book that we sell for $55, $11 will go into our PTA funds. If you have already purchased we hope that you get to enjoy all of the special deals that are on offer because it all helps to keep Taupo business buoyant.
One of our PTA Members attends regular discussions about the 50thJubilee and at present we are trying to hatch plans for raising funds as part of that exciting event. We’ll keep you posted as our ideas develop.
The PTA is not just about raising funds though, and at recent meetings we have been treated to some interesting talks and presentations about school life, education trends and the future plans for Taupo-nui-a-Tia College. Such subjects as “Moodle” a computer based teaching tool, and upcoming building projects have been most recently on the agenda. If you feel that you would like to know more about these please feel free to contact us via the College and we may be able to send you some more information or even a copy of the presentations.
Rob Williams, PTA President.
